About two weeks ago, I was at Walgreens, and I saw they had Nutri-Grain bars on sale.
So I bought them, duh. Who doesn't love Nutri-Grain bars? And saving money?
Then a few days later, as I was eating my de-stinking-licious granola and strawberry treat, I noticed something. The tagline on the box.
"One good decision can lead to another."
As cheesy as this story sounds, that line stuck in my head. I kept thinking about it. The next day, as I was preparing to go grocery shopping, I decided that my Nutri-grain box was right. And I decided to give myself a food makeover, in hopes that it would be the beginning of my new, healthy lifestyle. And guess what? It's working. What a genius piece of cardboard.
From here on out, Lindsey Lockhart eats healthy foods, and exercises on a regular basis. Because she cares about her health. And because a box told her to. More or less.
So this is me, being a cheeseball, and telling you that it works. And not just with food, either. If you want to start any habit, or break one for that matter, start with one good decision. The next good decision will be easier. I'm rooting for ya.
And I tell you this as I eat my 40 calorie smoothie and whole grain oatmeal with cranberries. Booyah. Go me.
And that is how my Nutri-grain box turned into a fortune cookie and changed my life.
By the way, Nutri-grain bars aren't actually very healthy. There is a ton of sugar in them. So I will not actually be purchasing those on a regular basis. So that kind of backfired for them... sorry Kellogg's.
