It's amazing how some people enter your life and at the time you have no idea how close you are going to become. You don't think you will ever be more than mere acquaintances, yet you end up becoming so interdependent you can't imagine life without them. Keeping that in mind, I like these two quotes, both by Dr. Benjamin Carson:

"Don't walk by people like they don't exist. Because they do exist. And Jesus died for them too."

"There are plenty of smart people who don't care about anybody else. We don't need more of them."

Everyone is important. So care about each of them. And get to know them. Because every person you meet has the potential to change your life. Or you may change theirs. You never know.
